2009 Required Minimum Distributions From IRAs Are Waived
Special Rule for 2009: The Worker, Retiree, and Employer Recovery Act of 2008 was signed into law by the President on December 23, 2008. The Act waives 2009 Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs), and 401(k) retirement plans. The Forecaster program will no longer automatically perform this distribution for 2009.
2001 Bush tax bill
The Forecaster program incorporates appropriate provisions of the 2001 Bush tax bill.
The estate tax will be repealed in 2010, with exemptions rising from $675,000 in 2001 to $3.5 million over time.
This affects the value of the estate that is passed on to your heirs at your death.
This program assumes these provisions are reenacted by a future Congress and are not rescinded in 2011,
but you can change this assumption to test the effect of the provisions being rescinded.
See Tax Relief Act of 2001 - Estate Tax Repeal
2003 Bush tax bill
The Forecaster program incorporates appropriate provisions of the 2003 Bush tax bill, as extended in May 2006.
This act reduces the tax rate on long-term capital gains.
This program assumes these provisions are reenacted by a future Congress and are not rescinded in 2011,
but you can change this assumption to test the effect of the provisions being rescinded.
